Covid benefits? The Tortoise and Hare?

Working on-line has had some interesting benefits. For one thing it’s made us slow down and think through priorities carefully, praying through each goal. Amazing how God answers! For example, the work with the Spanish translation team for our outcomes tools has led to clarity and benefit for the English language versions of the questionnaires as well. On top of that, it has tied into one of the videos that Phil and I have been working on, and it has led to ways to improve our website. We’ve also had conversations online and by phone with many key players. I’m now wondering if this quieter pace may actually be a bit like the Aesop’s tortoise and hare story. Going in a slow steady way may be faster in the end.

Covid has also strongly underlined the importance of local sustainability. As you know, this has always been our focus. With interrupted shipping, locally sustainable sources of appropriate chairs are even more badly needed. we are working with BethanyKids and BeeLine to find funding for an assembly facility in Thika. That’s a complex challenge!. Appreciate your prayers!! There's a link below if you'd like to help with start-up funds.

The benefits of facilitating local programs are especially clear now. For example, Joab and his team with BethanyKids, Solomon and his team at Tenwek; Daniel and Joseph and the team at Kajiado are doing all they can for those that need wheelchairs. Some are also involved in trying to find food for the families they serve. Covid restrictions have decimated family incomes, especially for those dealing with disability. Please pray for them.
