Catalyst Project

Facilitating wheelchair services through faith-based hospitals in low-resource countries.

The Hive Camp is happening!! In Guatemala, June 19 – 26.

It’s a collaborative effort of AT Catalyst, BethanyKids, Invigorate, and BeeLine. We thought we had things in place but realized the camp location we had been planning to use wouldn’t be adequate!By God’s grace, Elizabeth and Esther found one that seems perfect. However it’s suddenly adding several thousand dollars to the cost! There isn’t much time. Please consider helping this happen!!The participants are booked and planning to arrive and there is so much need. More info below.

Logos: Bethany Kids, Invigorate, Catalyst, BeeLine, Wheel Difference, The Hive Camp with verse, "How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!"

Who and Why Fifteen youth with Spina Bifida will be there for the first four days, and 25 children with Cerebral Palsy will be there for the last four days. There will be games, crafts, special events, music time, and learning about the Bible. Moms of the children will also be at the camp. A time for rest and refreshment for all! Spiritual care, fun activities, teaching and worship times. In addition, we’re doing a research study to give BeeLine valuable feedback on how well the BeeLine chairs are working for these two populations. So essential to improve design and make sure limited funds are used well!!

It's a team effort that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, professors of occupational therapy, a doctor, a nurse, assistive technology professionals, a pastor, and biomedical engineers. All of us will work together to improve spiritual, physical, and social well-being and mobility for the campers. Thanks for coming alongside to benefit minds, bodies, and souls of all involved!!

BethanyKids mostly works in Africa, but is invested in this camp because they're now working with BeeLine and the rest of us to make BeeLine chairs available in Kenya. Data from the studies and what we learn while in Guatemala is key to success.
